Notice: Appointment of Supervisor – Sunbury-York South
Due to resignations, the elected council of the rural community of Sunbury-York South no longer has enough councillors to form quorum. This means that the council is no longer able to govern and direct the operations of the rural community. As such, the Local Governance Commission has appointed Don Ferguson as Supervisor for the rural community of Sunbury-York South as per subsection 26(3) of the Local Governance Commission Act. The appointment of Mr. Ferguson is effective October 27, 2025, and he will remain in place until such time as quorum is restored following the next general municipal election in May 2026. As Supervisor, Mr. Ferguson is authorized to act in the place of the formerly elected council. This notice is provided pursuant to section 31 of the Local Governance Commission Act.
