The Town of Champdoré – Annexation Proposal

The Town of Champdoré (the Town) is requesting a boundary alteration (annexation) to modify its municipal boundary to take in (annex) the McKees Mills area. According to the Town, during local governance reform transition discussions, McKees Mills representatives and a former Minister of Local Government reached an agreement to retain the McKees Mills boundaries unchanged as they joined a new municipal entity. The Town states that this agreement established the boundary at the green marker on Route 115 southbound towards Saint Antoine.  However, according to the Town this adjustment was not reflected in government systems or Elections NB mapping databases. The affected properties are presently included within the municipal boundary of the Town of Grand-Bouctouche and are contiguous with the Town. The area the Town is requesting to annex contains approximately 20 full-time residents and numerous seasonal residences (e.g. cottages).

As required by the Act*, the Commission posted the Town of Champdoré’s report on its website on October 22nd, 2025 to allow for public review and feedback (you can read it, below).
