
The Village of Fundy-St Martins – Annexation Proposal
The Village of Fundy-St. Martins wishes to annex 4.87 square km of land located withing the City of Saint John adjacent to its boundary. In keeping with the requirements of the Local Governance Commission Act (the Act), the Village has provided the Local Governance Commission of New Brunswick (the Commission) with a report detailing the reasons for its proposal as well as its various impacts. The Commission will review the report and provide a recommendation to the Minister of Local Government as to whether the Commission believes that the proposed annexation should go forward. The final decision as to whether the annexation will be implemented rests with the Minister.
As required by the Act*, the Commission posted the Village of Fundy-St Martins’ report on its website on April 28th to allow for public review and feedback (you can read it, below). Therefore, should you wish to provide feedback for the Commission’s consideration, please do so on or before June 6th, 2025.
Feedback received after June 6th, 2025, will not be accepted.

* Subsection 50(2) of the Act requires the Commission to post such reports on its website for a period of 30 days, beginning on April 28th, 2025, to allow for public review and feedback. Subsection 50(4) of the Act further requires the Commission to continue receiving feedback up to 10 days following the close of the 30-day period.
